Wendy is a New Zealand Registered Nurse who has 33 years experience in paediatrics and holds a BSc (Hons) in Nursing Studies. She commenced her career in general paediatrics followed by several years Plunket Nursing in the Wellington region, thereafter moving to London in 1986 where she became involved in paediatric oncology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children. It is here that Wendy became a Charge Nurse covering oncology, haematology and bone marrow transplantation. She moved into the role of the Ward Based Educator, before finally returning to NZ in 2000. Wendy has a real love of working with children and their families. She has been part of the Brainwave team since 2007 and thoroughly enjoys running seminars for parents and professional groups. She is also involved in running the Auckland Brainwave School Programme for students aged 12-18 years, educating our next generation. She is a mother of 2 sports mad adolescent boys.
