Charlotte completed her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Otago in 2010 before moving to Auckland to work with Associate Professor Johanna Montgomery in the Centre for Brain Research.

Charlotte is now based in Nelson where she is at home bringing up her young daughter. “I absolutely loved my job at the University of Auckland, research is quite simply fascinating! The only thing worth giving up my research job for, was to be at home with our little girl and see her grow every day. I feel extremely lucky to have now had two jobs which I absolutely love! Getting involved with the Brainwave trust in conjunction with becoming a parent and joining the Playcentre movement has been extremely exciting. I am passionate about the nitty gritties of brain research and about placing the lives and experiences of children at the forefront of societies thinking.

The Brainwave trust knits these two passions together beautifully. I am honoured to be part of this organisation and am looking forward to getting out into the Nelson/Tasman/Blenheim/ communities to discuss the fascinating and inspiring messages of the Brainwave Trust.”
