Julia is Samoan, born and raised in South Auckland, bi-lingual in Samoan and English; with connections to the villages of Leauva’a and Fasito’outa in Samoa.  She is a lecturer at AUT in the School of Public Health and Psychosocial studies and conducts research in the area of youth.

Julia is a member of local and national advisory boards with NZ Police, Lifewise Ltd and a member of the clinical advisory committee for SAFE Network Ltd.  She is also a clinical psychologist with a background working with children and youth in care and protection and youth justice, and providing cultural and clinical supervision.  She continues to have a small private practice working with children, youth and their families mainly with family and youth court matters.  Julia remains committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of all our children and youth in Aotearoa is paramount to our future.
